Menehune Invitational

16 high school marching bands from Oahu were present at the Kaiser stadium on Oct. 20 for the Moanalua Menehune Classic Marching Festival. Due to electrical problems at the Moanalua High School stadium, Kaiser offered its facilities for the performances.

Percussionist Macey Mizuno’s snaredrum resonates throughout the field.
Clara Kaisho plays a blazing trumpet melody.

Each band presented a unique show full of colorful flags, fascinating pictures, and brilliant sounds. The Cougar band’s performance was inspired by Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, a spin-off series from J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter. “Overall, this season was very productive and memorable,” said junior trumpet player Racquel Kuge. “We got a lot more done this year, and I feel that we were more prepared for our performances.”
